NOTES FROM THE PRESIDENT— SUMMER 2010

 

We won’t be meeting during the months of June, July or August.  The next meeting of the Pittsburgh Club will be Thursday, September 16, 2010.   Doors to the Americana Room of Mulberry Center will open at 6:30 P.M. for activities sign up.   Membership will be open to anyone who lived within a 30-mile radius of down town Pittsburgh.

Although we won’t be meeting, you may sign up for the following events during the summer months as instructed below.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

 GOLF

·        Overnight Trip to Orange County National (Winter Garden) September 20-21, 2010.  The cost is $118.18 including tax for 2 days of championship golf, lodging, breakfast, cart GPS, range balls, club storage, and unlimited play on executive course.  ($54 plus tax for just golf if not staying overnight.)  Reservations must be made by 8/20/10 by calling 407-905-2330 and indicating you are part of the “LoBianco Group”.  You’ll be asked for a credit card to confirm your reservation.  (100% refund for cancellation before 30 days of event; 50% refund days 29 through 8; 0% less than 7 days.)  Also, contact Janet (J Lo) or Jim at 751-6174 to indicate your intention to join us so teams may be made.  A $5 prize amount must be provided to J Lo to hold your space.   Tee times will begin 9:30 on Monday, and 8:36 on Tuesday.  J Lo will email you complete information upon request.  

 

DINE ABOUTS

·        We will resume this monthly event in September.

TRAVEL:

BUS TRIP TO BRANSON:

The trip to Branson will be October 11-19, 2010, at a cost of $1125 per person and includes:

·         All transportation;

·         Hotel accommodations: 2 nights en route to Branson, 5 nights there, 1 night on the return trip;

·         Tours of Graceland, College of the Ozarks with Museum, and Shepherd of the Hills;

·         9 shows with guaranteed “best” seating: Pierce Arrow, Moe Bandy, Broadway, Presley’s Country Jubilee, Six, Jim Stafford, Shoji Tabuchi, Twelve Tenors, and Buck Trent;

·        Most meals: breakfast every day, one meal on the way, one meal every day in Branson.

A $100 per person down payment is required to hold your space.  Make checks payable to THE VILLAGES PITTSBURGH CLUB.

CRUISE:

A 7-night Eastern Caribbean cruise on the CELEBRITY ECLIPSE, Celebrity’s newest luxury ship, is planned for January 15-22, 2011. This vessel has an area on the top deck featuring real grass where guests can play croquet or golf or even have a picnic.  The Hot Glass Show is the first glass blowing studio at sea.  Other special indulgences are available including an intimate 130 seat specialty restaurant, daily fruit, hors d’oeuvres and more.  It accommodates 2850 passengers.  We’ll sail from Miami and stop in Puerto Rico, St. Maarten and St. Kitts and enjoy 3 full sea days.  Cabins are available at $1049 (inside); $1179 (Oceanview); and $1269 (Balcony).  The cost includes:

·        Round-trip motorcoach transfer; driver tip and porter gratuities;*

·        7-night cruise including $236 taxes and fees;*

·        Cocktail party with open bar and hot and cold hors d’oeuvres;

·        $100 per cabin onboard credit.

*Motorcoach based on 30 or more people; taxes subject to change.


A $250 per person deposit is due with reservation (Check payable to OMNI TOURS).  A second payment of $500 is due July 15, 2010 and final payment is due October 15, 2010.  Full refund is available until October 14, 2010.  Flyers and sign-up sheets will be available May meeting.
